Sonnet 1

She walked out of the house, going to school
Goes past her blue mail box, full of junk mail
She crossed her cracked street, looking really cool
Carries a large backpack, fast as a snail
She passes a blue jay, making a nest
Listening to music, daily pop hits
She stayed up too late last night, wants some rest
Needs to put deodorant on her pits
She studied, huge history test today
The test is worth almost half of her grade
She has to pass, or high school she will stay
In her bag, pencils and paper all laid
She walks into school, pumped up you will say
Walks in the door, “the test is not today?”
